Kawa Moka
Coffee From the Soul, For the Soul.

Kawa Moka is a women-owned, black-led company with a mission rooted in sustainability and social responsibility. Our journey begins in the heart of Ghana, where every step of our coffee production, from seedling to roast, is meticulously cultivated. We take pride in being a socially conscious brand, working closely with women farmers to produce exceptional, sustainable, and ethically made specialty coffee.

The Origin of Kawa Moka
Our brand name, Kawa Moka, reflects our connection to
Ghana's rich history with cacao and the iconic coffee seaport city, Moka, in Yemen. We bring the story of coffee back to its African roots, celebrating the flavors and heritage of Ghana.

Our Coffee: From Seedling to Roast

  • 100% Ghanaian: Our Robusta coffee, native to Central and West Africa, is cultivated in the Volta Region, particularly in the town of Leklebi.

  • Female-Powered: We empower over 20 indigenous women small-farm owners in the Volta Region, fostering gender equality and economic independence.

  • Socially Conscious: Our commitment to ethical and sustainable practices extends from farming to packaging, creating a positive impact on the environment and communities.

The Journey from Ghana to Your Cup
Our coffee undergoes a meticulous journey
from seedling to cup, traversing the picturesque Volta Region. Handpicked by local women farmers during the annual harvesting season,
our Robusta beans offer a unique blend of chocolate, fruit, and nut notes.

Award-Winning Packaging

Recognized by Women In Agribusiness, we recently received an award for our outstanding packaging that showcases Ghana's agricultural products, emphasizing our commitment to quality and innovation.

Environmental Sustainability

  • Wild-Grown Robusta: Nurtured organically amidst plantain, cacao, and food crops, our coffee thrives in micro-lots, preserving soil health and providing a habitat for local wildlife.

  • Recycled Packaging: We prioritize environmental sustainability by using recycled paper bags for packaging and repurposing coffee bean waste for our sustainable coffee-based beauty range.

  • Solar-Powered RoasteryCommitted to sustainability, our roastery is powered entirely by solar energy, aligning with our dedication to minimizing our environmental footprint.

Gender Equality & Community Impact

  • Female Farmers: All 20 micro-lots are owned and operated by local women farmers, promoting gender equality and providing fair wages.

  • Community Engagement: Kawa Moka actively engages with communities, creating over 200 jobs, and focuses on upskilling the coffee industry through various initiatives, from farming to barista training.
